Ernie Lazernick grew up in Norfolk, VA and graduated from Talmudical Academy in Baltimore, MD in 1982. He attended college at Towson State University in Towson, MD and Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA where he studied Business Management.
Prior to becoming a Flight Attendant, Ernie was a unit manager for a national restaurant chain. His aviation career began in 1997 where he was a reservation agent, airport agent, and eventually Flight Attendant with TWA. Following September 11, 2001, he also became a freight train conductor for Norfolk – Southern Railroad, but yearned to return to the skies.
In 2005, Ernie had the opportunity to once again fly for Independence Air. Following their demise, he started with Air Wisconsin in 2006.
Ernie has been based in PHL, DCA, and currently is based in IAD. He has served as the LEC President for Council 28 for the past 8 years. He has also held various committee chairs including Legislative Affairs, and was elected as MEC President in January 2016.
Ernie currently resides with his husband and three cats in Charleston, WV and is a proud supporter of not only his local Flight Attendants in IAD, but also is a very strong advocate for all Flight Attendants in the employ of Air Wisconsin and the aviation industry as a whole.
